Purple pants ??!!

Yesterday, on our mammoth 7 hour trek back from Cornwall, whilst stuck on that wonderful road to nowhere, the M25, I heard numerous times on the radio news that the most popular colour of knickers for men to purchase the love of their lives this year is PURPLE ! No longer is red popular (thank goodness for that !!)

So, whilst sat in a stationery traffic jam for almost 2 hours, listening to the kids bickering in the back and hubby snoring in the passenger seat, I got to wondering how many purple items we have for sale on the Blooming Felt website. These are the ones I thought of ....

Hundreds of Buttons

Lovely Lilac Button Bags - Mixed Purple Buttons - 35g

Felt Sheets

100% Wool Felt Sheets - Lilac / Purple (V3)

Felting Wool

Needle Felting Starter Kit - Berry

Miles of Ribbon

Green & Purple Spot Reversible Grosgrain Ribbon

Felt String (ooh - that's a crappy photo !)

Felt String / Felt Cord - Lilac / Purples (V3)

Thousands of Felt Balls

100% Wool Felt Balls - Lilac Purple (V3)

Bags & Purses

100% Wool Felt Bags - Lilac / Purple (V3)

And then, when I got home and actually typed the word "purple" into the search bar on the website, was stunned when I realised how many more purple things we have for sale !!

Cabochons

Chrysanthemum Flat Back Cabochons - Lilac

Felt pebbles

100% Wool Felt Pebbles - Lilac Purple (V3)

Felt hearts

100% Wool Felt Hearts - Plum / Purple (V5)

Felt flowers (another crappy photo - sorry!)

100% Wool Felt Flowers - Lilac / Purple (V3)

Felt stars

100% Wool Felt Stars - Lilac / Purple (V3)

Cotton Embroidery Threads

DMC Soft Cotton Thread - Code 2398 (Purple)

Crochet Flowers

Hand Crocheted Flowers - Lilac & Purple - 1 Inch

Jumbo ric-rac

JUMBO Ric Rac - Purple

Ribbon & cord necklaces

Ribbon & Cord Necklace - Purple

And Beading elastic (new on the site today !)

I couldn't believe it !! It has finally dawned on me exactly how many wonderful things we have for sale on our site .... and not just in purple either !!

Actually, I think I'm liking purple ... but I don't think I'm a purple pants kind of gal !!

xx

Announcing the winner ...

Hellooooo lovely people !

I hope you're all enjoying the wonderful weather this weekend - well, it's lovely here in the South East at least so I'm hoping everyone else is having similar weather.

So, on to the winner of May's Freebie. We had 49 comments and the random number generator picked number 30. Comment number 30 was from ........

Congratulations Louise - I'll email you via your blog to get your

Thank you to everyone who took the time to leave a comment and enter the giveaway this month. Sorry you couldn't all win, but we do have lots of the purses in stock at the moment

along with lots of lovely felt shapes

and we've also just had a bumper delivery of buttons which are also available on the website, so you can easily make up your own little felt purse set.

I'll be back again later this week with all the latest news from Blooming Felt Shedquarters.

See you soon !!

IT'S FREEBIE TIME !

Hellooooooo !

It's been far too long my friends ! Having been away for nearly 3 weeks, catching up on orders, Easter and of course, the Royal Wedding it seems like I have been away from this little old blog FOREVER !

But, I'm BACK and raring to go.

So, without further ado I shall announce this month's FREEBIE giveway. And it is .........

A Felt Purse Kit !

This fantastic little kit contains one of our turquoise 100% wool felt purses (complete with felt ball zip pull), some felt shapes and buttons for you to embellish the purse with.

As with all of our giveaways, it's open to everyone, wherever you are in the world. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post (only 1 comment per person please) and ensure that I can contact you via your own blog, website or email address. If you win and I am unable to contact you, the prize will be redrawn and another winner picked. Please note - last month's giveaway went to a redrawn name as the original winner didn't provide any contact details. Please don't make the same mistake.

The Giveaway will remain open for 1 week and will close at 5pm next Sunday 8th May when a winner will be picked and the name announced.

GOOD LUCK !!

xx

They came !!!!

At last ..... look what came yesterday ! I was soooooo excited and have to say that I am very pleased with all of it. I felt like a child at Christmas - I couldn't contain my excitment and ripped open the box like a mad thing, to find numerous amounts of these gorgeous, gorgeous items .. along with lots of other stuff like lovely felt beads, felt mats (more about these at a later date), pencil cases & purses (shown in previous posts).

Pen / pencil covers

Coasters - to be sold in sets of 4

More coasters ... I'm also hoping to have both of these designs made up into place mats

Spotty pink heart garlands

Rocket pencil cases, to go with the caterpillar pencil cases I already have

A rather lovely bag, in gorgeous shades of brown

This is a felted doorstop which just needs to be filled with a bag of rice or sand - I have to say I'm rather proud of how this one turned out.

A redesign of the felted money box - the coin slot is on the roof, as you can see, and you can get your pennies out through a small velcro opening just beneath the roof.

This evening will be spent uploading it all to the website ready for sale to all of you lovely people ! And then I'll be spending evening after evening sewing on my little Blooming Felt woven labels that I purchased from etsy a few weeks ago.

I'm hoping the new site will go live tomorrow or Friday, so you should be able to buy from then. There are still a few items outstanding that will be added within the next couple of weeks and I am then hoping to add new designs / products on a regular basis, so do please keep checking the website and this blog regularly for updates - you can always join the mailing list on my website as well to be kept up to date.

And of course, I'm hoping to get some new suppliers at the trade fair on Sunday so will be adding a number of different items to the site after that. And don't forget, all of these items are in addition to the numerous other products that I've shown you in previous posts.

Do let me know what you think - I'd love to hear your comments.

My next post will be to inform you that the site is live.

Until then ...

Normal service resumed

Hiya

First of all I would like to say thank you to everyone who contacted me regarding my last post. It was really kind of you to send me your good wishes and cheered me up no end. THANK YOU !

As a result of all your good wishes, I managed to get my skates on and produced all of the following items over the weekend:

These will all make up part of my Christmas stock for the various events I've got coming up, the first of which is on the 14th September. I'm hoping that this event will give me an idea of the most popular items, so that I can sort out stock for the other 2 events. Of course, if you are interested in purchasing any of these items or commissioning something similar, do please let me know - sarah(at)pictureitinstitches.co.uk (replace the (at) with an @.

Last night I sat and beaded 10 keyrings, so I'm slowly managing to cross things off of my list.

I have also been very busy with my new Flickr account. Look over there on the right of the page and you'll see a few of my items. I've uploaded photos of lots of my products to Flickr and also joined a number of groups and have had an amazing amount of views of my photos. I've also had quite a few of my photos added to people's "Favourite photos" lists, which is very flattering !

That's it for today.

Until next time xx
