A couple of fun tutorials

Well, once again time has run away with me ! The last posting date for Easter deliveries from Blooming Felt has been and gone and I am now on shutdown for the holidays - YAY !! You can of course still order goodies from my website, but they won't be processed or dispatched until 22nd April - sorry !

Whilst I did have a couple of deliveries this week, I am afraid that showcasing them will have to wait until I'm up and running again on 22nd April.

So, rather than just leave you a rather boring post, I've been surfing the net for interesting projects that you might like to try out, all of which can be made using goodies from Blooming Felt.

And now that Spring has finally arrived and we can put our boots back into the cupboard and bring out our pretty little pumps, you might want to bring last year's shoes back to life with a new look and pretty them up with some button embellishments ! Bumps & Balls !

So this last week has seen my poor little man trip over a chair at school and crack his head on the corner of a table, resulting in rather a lot of blood, a black eye, steri-strips to hold it all together and a very panicky Mummy !

After the terrible tragedy with Natasha Richardson earlier this week, any sort of bump on the head now has me running straight to the Doctors.

I couldn't believe the state of him when I got to the school after that dreaded phonecall to say "there's no need to worry, but your little man has bumped his head and we think he would be better off in the peace and quiet of home for the rest of the day". To walk into the school office and see him sitting there, with an icepack over his eye, his shirt and tie covered in blood, and his poor little tear-stained face nearly had me in tears myself. I know the school didn't want to panic me, but I was honestly expecting to see him sitting there looking rather sheepish with a bit of a bump on his head (as has happened in the past). So to see all that blood and steri-strips holding the wound together was rather a shock to say the least.

But, after a visit to the Doctors and me demanding to see someone there and then as the receptionist very politely informed me that everyone was at lunch (!) , a lovely young Doctor came ambling through reception, took one look at us and took us straight through to be examined. Fortunately, everything appears to be fine although my little man will be sporting a lovely scar for the forseeable future and he was most upset to be told that he couldn't do PE, swimming or play outside at breaktimes for the rest of the week. What a shame, especially as the weather has been so gorgeous this last week !

So, whilst he was "in the peace and quiet of home" for the afternoon, my little man helped me count out buttons and felt balls ! This week I took delivery of :

Lots of lovely new crocheted balls (5 gorgeous colours)

2 designs of embroidered felt balls

and new colours of spiral pom-poms

All of the above are now loaded onto the site ready for you to get your hands on !

The wool roving will be here on Monday if you're waiting for that and I think I forgot to tell you last time that I am now stocking needle felting tools - wooden tools that will hold either a single needle or a group of 4 - both are available for sale now.

And yet another reminder that Friday 27th March will be the last posting day until 22nd April - sorry !!

I'll try and get one more post in next week as I'm expecting delivery of a few more new bits and pieces - but if not, you'll have it all to look forward to at the end of April !!

Busy, Busy, Busy !!!

Oh my word !! Where did the last couple of weeks go?? I've been so busy I just don't seem to have time to do anything that needs doing at the moment !

The website has been manic and I'm trying to take a bit of a step back from my etsy, folksy and dawanda shops. It's almost impossible for me to keep all of these shops stocked up and to keep my stock under control when I'm selling through so many different channels. But, have no fear, the Blooming Felt website will always come first so take a look at the latest additions to the site :

Wool Felt Easter Kits

I just adore these kits !! You get very comprehensive instructions and all of the wool felt that you need to complete each project - all you need to supply is the needle, thread and your wonderful sewing skills !! Welcome your Easter visitors by hanging the wreath on your front door and then make them smile even more by placing the egg basket on your table as a stunning centrepiece!

I'm on countdown now to the Easter holidays and boy do I need a rest ! As I think I said before, the website will still be taking orders, but nothing will be processed or dispatched after Friday 27th March until Tuesday 22nd April - so if you're wanting to stock up for your Easter projects you need to start doing it now !!

I've had a delivery of new designs of ceramic buttons, but have yet to add them to the site ... sorry. The needle felting sponges / pads are finally back in stock, as are the mirrored felt balls, embroidered felt balls and a fantastic new colour range of crocheted balls (new photos will be on the site soon !)

More wool roving is on its way to me as we speak, so if you're waiting for this, it should hopefully be here sometime next week.

Right - that's it for now. I'm off out into the garden to enjoy the sunshine, admire the daffodils and plant a few more plants !

More Buttons !

After a really lovely weekend spent browsing the fantastic shops of Brighton and generally chilling out at the gorgeous hotel (we had a suite !!) it was back to an inbox full of orders and a couple of deliveries of fantastic new buttons !

All of these buttons are available for sale on the site right now. I've also just taken delivery of a complete restock of hand-painted ceramic buttons as well as 6 new designs, which have yet to be added to the site - sorry.

Now - a little bit of advance warning. The Blooming Felt website will be closed from 28th March until 22nd April. This is due to the Easter Holidays and stock-taking. Whilst the website will still be taking orders, you will unfortunately have to wait until 22nd April for them to be processed and delivered. Once Blooming Felt re-opens on 22nd April, orders will be processed and dispatched in turn, according to the order they were received. So, if you're looking to stock up on any of my products for your Easter projects, you might want to think about doing it pretty soon. THE LAST POSTING DATE FOR EASTER WILL BE FRIDAY 27TH MARCH 2009.
