Special Offers & New Products

As I said in my last post, I've been very busy updating the special offers section of the website with lots of lovely goodies that are pretty much one-offs and are unlikely to be repeated.

So, you might want to grab a cuppa and a couple of choccy biccies before you sit down to check out these offers (and new products!)

First up are little bags of the hand-painted ceramic buttons. For the show recently I bought in a whole load of ceramic buttons to sell individually - whilst they did all sell very well, I am left with a number of designs that aren't standard stock items so thought I would bag up little bags containing a mix of 10 buttons and offer them for sale at a slightly cheaper price than they would be if purchased individually.

Next are some little felt flowers in beautiful autumnal colours, each with a teeny bead at their centre. Sold in bags of 25 - containing 5 of each colourway.

Next up - crocheted balls. These are all excess stock that I received and once again, these aren't my standard stock colours, so I'm offering mixed bags of 20 balls.

Also, fish-eye buttons - 25g bags

And finally, these teeny tiny little buttons (apologies for the grainy photos). I've had these sitting in the bottom of a box for a whole year now and it's about time they made their way onto the website. The first lot are called "Inheritance" and the second are called "Stocking Filler". Both come in round and square buttons. Once again, these won't be repeated so grab them while you can.

The gorgeous pink BIG ONE buttons are now on the website, ready for you to snap up and turn into funky button brooches.

I also have new colours of the 1cm spotty and gingham buttons on order so the "Polka Dot Party" and "Gingham Garden Party" button bags will very soon contain 100 buttons !! Now that's some party !!

Lots of lovely new felt accessories have also been loaded onto the website. A new range of felt bags, corsages, purses and rings are all now available in the "Felt Accessories" sub-category of the "Little Treats" section. Perfect for Christmas (sorry - that word again !!)

I today took delivery of more lovely crocheted flowers, so these are now fully stocked on the website (along with 2 new colours in the 1 inch size, which I forgot to take photos of, but will be on the site within the next couple of days)

I do apologise if your orders are taking a while to get to you. I was thinking of offering "Special Delivery" as a postage option whilst the strikes are on, but then found out that they're not guaranteeing delivery so that's a bit of a waste of time ... and money .. if you ask me. But fingers crossed it will all be resolved soon and everything will be back to normal.

Now, I've kept you here for far too long ... off you go and snap up some of those special offers and new products !!

See you soon xx

Felt, Buttons and Etsy

Hiya

Still busy here in Essex ! It's Grace's 2nd birthday tomorrow and I've been wrapping up all of her lovely pressies (tea sets, toasters, ironing boards, irons etc - not that we're stereo-typing her of course!). Our poor postman has been staggering up to the front door this past week bringing lots of these goodies, and today he also bought me another fabulous shipment of ceramic buttons (which are now for sale in my shop) and some felt samples. Now, I'm not trying to do my friend Sarah over at paper-and-string out of any felt sales, but I found a great company that does a wonderful range of adhesive backed felt. Me thinks a little order could be placed this week.

I finished this picture over the weekend which will be framed in a white square box frame and put for sale on my own website or maybe added to my etsy shop (minus the frame). Yes, I took the plunge and opened an etsy shop in the hope that I might be able to sell some of my goodies worldwide. Take a look over on the right hand side of the page and you can see some of the items I have for sale in my shop.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Hiya

So sorry I have been a bit slow on the blogging front lately. I've been fulfilling a number of orders that have been placed - why do they always seem to come at once??

NOTHS is finally picking up for me (about time too !) and I've also had a couple of orders from Tuggle. The new ceramic buttons I've started stocking on my site are proving popular and I've been trying to come up with a nice way of packaging. At the moment I've been sewing them onto coloured card which has Picture it in Stitches / Blooming Felt printed on it, but if anyone has any novel ideas which wouldn't take too much time, I'd love to hear them.

I've also created a new felt and button picture which is available for sale through my shop (scroll down to the bottom of the page) - it retails at £10 with Free Delivery. I am working on a blue circle picture along the same lines too.

Now that I'm ramping up for the Christmas fairs I've been looking into stocking a number of craft kits specifically for children. I spied these the other day and have placed an order for a number of the peg doll kits - they're absolutely fantastic (well, I think so anyway) and are suitable for ages 4 and up. Once they arrive I'll be putting some in my shop and will let you know in case you might be interested. They will be retailing at £10 each with free postage !!

And now I must go and sort out the mess that is our house - we're having all of the windows replaced and the dust is absolutely unbelievable.

Helloweeeee !!

Hiya !!

We've made it back from Cornwall, wet and bedraggled unfortunately, but we did have a good time :o)

I was rather brave whilst down there and visited a number of shops and galleries with some of my felt accessories. I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to Sara of all-about-eden who had very kindly done some groundwork for me the week before and checked out a number of places that were suitable and then sent me an envelope full of business cards and leaflets and suggested that I visit some of them. Sara - you're a star !! A little thank you will be winging its way to you very shortly.

As a result of visiting some of the places, I managed to secure quite a large order of my loopy felt brooches and also needle-felted brooches with Crafty's Country Store in St Ives. I also spoke to a lovely lady in the most fantastic litle bead shop in St Ives and she gave me a tip off about a few other places I could try and also a couple of websites that might be worth contacting. Of course, it would have been rude not to buy something from her shop after spending so long chatting to her, so I purchased these lovely little seed beads which will be used on my Christmas stock. They also have a website where you can buy beads online - so if any of you beaders out there are interested, the website is http://www.gjbeads.co.uk/

I also dropped leaflets and business cards off at a number of other places and spoke with a lady at the Duke Stret Gallery in Newlyn who also happened to own another gallery in St Ives and she is quite interested in some of my felt corsages. So ... a busy time all in all and added to that, I also received 3 orders through my website whilst I was away, so spent all of last night packaging orders up to be shipped off today.

I really should go away on holiday more often because when I got back I checked the answerphone and there was a message from a lady who is organising a charity christmas shopping event (for "ladies that lunch" !) and wondered whether I would be interested in taking a table. Of course, I said yes and she then gave me 2 fantastic contacts, both local to where I live, who she thought would be interested is stocking my felt accessories, so I shall be contacting them both tomorrow and will let you know how I get on.

Another thing that was REALLY exciting was the fact that I received a phone call (whilst I was sitting in the pouring rain on the little Lappa Valley Railway) from the features editor of Crafts Beautiful magazine. You may recall that last month I placed a joint advert with Sarah from paper-and-string in the magazine? Well, the features editor wants to do an article on me and my needle-felted accessories !!! YAY - fame at last ;0) She wants to me to send her some of my hair bobbles, fridge magnets and hairclips for them to feature and also a piece about how I got into felting and what I like about it. Fingers crossed it will kick start the felting supplies side of my website.

I've just realised that this post sounds a bit like a self-promotional article, which I really didn't intend it to be, but I was just so excited about all of the things that happened whilst I was away - I just had to tell you lovely like-minded crafty people. Apologies if it seems like I'm blowing my own trumpet - I'm really not.

Of course, going on holiday means spending money and I couldn't resist this lovely card for my hubby as it's our wedding anniversay on Sunday (although Paul will be on his way back from Snowden as he's taking part in the 3-Peaks 24 Hour Challenge this weekend). I shall be dismantling the card in the future though because I want to reuse that lovely ceramic button. You can buy the buttons from Stockwell Ceramics

We also splashed out on this beautiful print which will take pride of place in our hallway (apologies for the flash in the middle of the picture !). It's entitled "St Ives on a Foggy Day" and is a little reminder of Paul's roots back in Cornwall.

and these little coat pegs for Grace's room and towel clips for Sam & Grace's towels in the bathroom

And now, it's back down to earth with a bump - sorting the piles of washing and ironing out.
